MISSION STATEMENT
The CATESOL Bay Area Chapter’s mission is to promote excellence in education for English language learners and a high quality professional environment for their teachers. The CATESOL Bay Area Chapter represents teachers of English language learners in Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara Counties, at all levels and in all learning environments. We strive to:
- improve teacher preparation and provide opportunities which further professional expertise
- increase awareness of the strengths and needs of English language learners
- promote appreciation of diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
EVENTS & OPPORTUNITIES
We sponsor several networking and educational opportunities for Bay Area ESL teachers each year.
